Sometimes football is complicated. Other times, not so much.
Turns out many of the touchdown passes from Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to blazing fast Tyreek Hill are fairly uncomplicated.
Throw it deep and I’ll go get it, Hill tells the quarterback, accordiing to Tagovailoa.
“Tyreek has said that many times,’’ the Dolphins quarterback said during his guest appearance on the "ManningCast" on Monday night. “And that’s the thing, he’s been open on many of the times where he’s came and told me, ‘Hey, throw it as far as you can. I’m going to go find it.’
“And really that’s how a lot of the touchdowns he’s had sort of went.’’

'I DON'T THINK IT'S FAIR': Tua Tagovailoa weighs in on Florida State's CFP snub
Hill leads the league in receiving touchdowns (12) and receiving yards (1,481). Just how fast is he?
“I’ve never overthrown Tyreek,’’ Tagovailoa said. “I don’t know if it’s possible. I don’t have the Patrick Mahomes arm to be able to do something like that.’’
Eli Manning interjected, saying, “You hit him right in stride.’’
Replied the Dolphins quarterback, “I think as I hit him in stride, it’s me throwing it as far as I can.’’
What Peyton Manning had trouble watching
Peyton Manning showed no hesitation watching replays of Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence getting injured in the fourth quarter. At least not while Manning described what happened on the play before Lawrence suffered what appeared to be a serious and very painful injury.
Later, in the telecast, cameras caught Lawrence stepped gingerly as he walked through the underbelly of EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.
“Oh, I just can’t watch that,’’ Manning said. “That makes me sick.’’
Sick that Lawrence’s season looked to be in jeopardy.
“He’s the future of the NFL,’’ Manning added. “This guy is going to be around forever, and he’ll be back. But this is just an amazing game-changer for this team, right?”
Chad Ochocinco mocks NFL for handicapping defenses
Chad Ochocinco (formerly Chad Johnson) joined the ManningCast in the fourth quarter and provided the perfect mix of boastfulness and ridicule.
The retired two-time All-Pro receiver, who is 45 and has not played in the NFL since 2011, said he could amass 1,400 yards receiving if he rejoined the league.
“Have you seen the way the NFL has handicapped defenses?’’ he asked during his guest appearance during the fourth quarter. “You can’t touch the receiver. You can’t hit the receiver. I mean, basically you’re playing flag football. So, yeah, I think I could get about 1,400 yards.’’
In case any NFL general managers are wondering ...
“And I’m in shape,’’ Ochocinco added. “I never stopped working out because you never know when that call might come back in.’’
